Black girls in our community are faced with many adversities due to many structural disadvantages due that impact their social environments. Social emotional well-being is critical for our girls now more than ever because of the many challenges that they face.
As mothers and women who grew up in Winston-Salem, we understand very well the issues that impact our girls well-being. It truly takes a village to ensure access and opportunities for our girls and our families, and our community.
The GLAM Rites of Passage Program strives to be apart of this village. Because we understand that violence impacts our girls and is around every corner, the program was created to address this issue while providing windows of opportunity so that our girls and their mother's can experience their full potential.
